Caro Wilson is a multimedia artist currently creating with clay. After pursuing studies in community design and printmaking in Halifax, Caro returned west and fell in love with making pots. The creation of space, a small home for substance and ritual, combines her forever-fascination of maps and place-making with the intimacy of the sentient object. Her work is subtle in its presentation and rich in feeling. Warm earthy hues hold secrets of subdued patterns and illusive textures, making Caro's work a source comfort and constant discovery. Each piece is uniquely hand-made from flat slabs of clay, a dimensionally additive process that translates between the hand-drawn and hand-built.
Caro received a B.C.D. from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2015 and has studied at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax, Nova Scotia and the Kootenay School of the Arts in Nelson, British Columbia.
Caro is currently based in Nelson where she continues to explore new ways for you to experience and relate to your morning coffee.
